Black Roast

Typical Venezuelan dish based on the back of the beef, mixing flavours with seasoning, malt or paprika, which gives it a black colour.

Ingredients

2 kilograms of Muchacho (Eye of Round) fat free

2 bell peppers

1 pinch of salt

8 millilitres of oil

1 cup beef stock

2 Bottles of malt 6oz or a panela of papelon

3 Onions

1 pinch of pepper

Preparation

Step 1: Season the meat with pepper, salt and brown with oil.

Step 2: Chop the onion and vegetables and add to the pot with meat and let it fry for 5 minutes.

Step 3: After 5 minutes add the malt or papelon and the meat stock. Cover and cook for approximately 90 minutes or until the meat is completely tender on low heat.

Step 4: Add more water and salt to our mixture if necessary.

Step 5: Serve and enjoy.
